Typography as an Object

Breathing Typography
Project 01

Typography as an Object

The main aim of the project was to have interactions with a user in a very witty way. Typography has always been seen in a very static manner. Typography is always used as a supporting item for object and does not have any meaning in itself. What if we could give physical properties to different words based on their properties. Imagine a world where objects don’t exist and are replaced by the typographical graphics and forms.

One Day, One Logo

This was a project a friend and I had taken up in which we decided to make one logo everyday for people in our college batch.

The logos are more like icons, representing what each person does. This project is still an ongoing project and we hope to do a few more. All of these were made in a day each and hence are still rough.

Taking this as an inspiration, i started designing a new font, 'Minuscule' which means - of or in lower-case letters, as distinct from capitals or uncials.

Open Acces

Research on Open Access presented in the form of Infographics
Project 02

Open Access

Open access is one of those global issues, which in my opinion, is capable of changing thousands of lives. Although there are so many people involved in the issue of making academic articles available for all, very few of us actually know what open access is.

Open access is a system that makes all the academic journals and articles in the world accessible to everyone with an internet connection.

My research looks onto the various aspects of this system. It analyses the feelings of the people involved in the system and the reasons which do not make the current system sustainable. It also looks into the methods for improvement and making a win-win situation for everyone.

Aaron Swartz, one of the main activists fighting for the open access once said, "But even under the best scenarios, their work will only apply to the things published in the future. everything up until now will have been lost." My business model tries to modify the present system to make all the current articles in the digital repositories accessible to all. The reseach was presented in the form of an infographic.
